The Guinguet pedestal table is a true testament to the principle of form follows function. Its design features a pedestal that rises above the table it fits into, creating a seamless interplay between the two. This interpenetration gives the front foot of the table its distinctive shape, resembling an animal-like form. The tabletop design further accentuates this projection, adding to the table's sculptural appeal.
Made from oak wood using a traditional technique enhanced by digital technologies, the Guinguet table is not only visually stunning but also built to last. It is designed to withstand the rigors of a mobile object intended for restoration, with easy repairability using techniques available worldwide.
The Guinguet pedestal table measures 550 x 472 x 820 mm, with a shelf height of 760 mm, suitable for bridging tables up to 750 mm high. It also features an under-shelf drawer measuring 300 x 300 x 50 mm, providing convenient storage space. Additionally, an optional beech cutting board measuring 600 x 290 and 22 mm thick can be added for added functionality.
When it comes to interaction, the Guinguet table offers a seamless experience. There is no empty space between the table and the pedestal, creating a sense of intimacy between the waiter and the guests. The performance becomes a personal show, allowing guests to appreciate the perfection of the gestures and details of the food. The table's elevated height also improves the posture of the waiter, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The Guinguet pedestal table was specifically designed for the Odette restaurant in Toulouse, France, in February 2019. It was created to meet the unique needs of Service au Guéridon, providing waiters with reliable and aesthetically pleasing accessories that enhance the quality of service and gestures they provide.
